My Favorite Wife (1940)

This had been lying in my collection for sometime before I got round to watching it. & I knew I was watching it mainly bcoz of Cary Grant. I like the embroidered opening credits, & the movie doesn't lose much time in getting straight to the story. The characters were built up quite quick & easily believable.

It was a light film, some funny moments; but there never was any doubt in how it would end. After all, there were kids involved. The dialogues were crisp & the flow of the scenes was good. All the court-scenes brought a smile. The mother-children reunion was nicely done, so were the excuses Nick Arden gives to stay with his family. All in all, a nice feel good film with a Merry Christmas ending.

Favourite scenes include: 'How was my funeral; wish I could have been there.'; the scene with Ellen pretending to be Bianca; Adam/Burkett twist; 'Impulsive? He's full of carrots!';

Alternate Ending: nah.. leave it as is. but I do feel Steve Burkett got a raw deal.

First Viewed: Alone at home in Doha.
